Yule Tidings - Chapter 5

Beloved ones:  I'm thinking of you and wishing you the happiest of holiday seasons.

I must confess it's been a difficult year.  First off there was  an onslaught of garden pests.

The ladybugs we introduced were no match for these monsters; more extreme measures were necessary.

Then there were the plumbing disasters; the less said about those, the better.

That being said, I've still managed to move up to Pastry Chef.

Travis has moved up to Project Manager.

I will verify that pregnancy is not a job for sissies.

We bought a new bed, however, and that has helped with the worst of my back troubles.

With the back troubles relieved, the rest of the pregnancy was pleasant.

And of course, the end result, of course, is worth it.

Meet Tabbert and Anders Torgersen.

Please don't ask me which one is which; unless someone is screaming, even I can't tell which one has been fed and changed.

Travis says they both look like lumps of bread dough.

Yuletide Blessings, Merry Christmas, Happy Hannukah,  Ecstatic Eid, Luminous Diwali and Fruitful Kwaanza!

Love,
Leigh

PS:  I promise I'll send baked goods next year!

Yule Tidings - Chapter 4

Beloved ones:  I'm thinking of you and wishing you the happiest of holiday seasons.

For those of you who were unable to come for the wedding, Travis and I were married early in the spring.  It was lovely to see those of you who were able to get here.

The reception was quite a bash; check out the cake I baked!

Travis is even more outgoing than I, so we have many visitors and many parties.  First there was a dinner party.

Then we had wonderful party for Travis' birthday.

We also had a costume party.  Yes, I know my costume was dreadful; it was the only one that would fit.

I had a tough time getting the costume to fit because we have a blessed event due early next year.

This isn't what it looks like; I'm practicing for work!

Meanwhile we're both working hard and keeping the house in order.  Travis is now an Ace Engineer and I'm now Head Caterer.  Yuletide Blessings, Merry Christmas, Happy Hannukah,  Ecstatic Eid, Luminous Diwali and Fruitful Kwaanza! Miss you all!

Love,
Leigh

PS:  I'm so sorry I didn't get around to baking this year!

Yule Tidings - Chapter 3

Beloved ones:  I'm thinking of you and wishing you the happiest of holiday seasons.

Learning household repairs wasn't at the top of my bucket list but I suppose it goes along with being a homeowner.

Travis and I are now an item. We had a few stellar dates and are now engaged.   We're saving up for a wedding; it will probably be next spring.  I hope you can all come to Willow Creek then. You'll be happy to know that he's agreed to take our family name.

Travis is a tech guru who works very hard. Most of the time, anyway.  I've built a study where he can work after we're married.  I must say that having a computer in the house has its advantages for me as well.

My career was stalled until I became proficient at mixology. I studied at every available moment but it quickly became apparent that I wouldn't learn it from a book.  I splurged for a bar and the hands-on practice brought a promotion to mixologist in short order.

I caught the most splendid salmon; guess where is now.

Yuletide Blessings, Merry Christmas, Happy Hannukah,  Ecstatic Eid, Luminous Diwali and Fruitful Kwaanza! Miss you all!

Love,
Leigh

PS:  Hope you enjoy the black and white cookies!

Yule Tidings - Chapter 2

Beloved ones:  I'm thinking of you and wishing you the happiest of holiday seasons.

I'm moving up in the world:  I spent most of the year as head dishwasher which was very hard work and very long hours.  Fun was in short supply but I've just been promoted to caterer with a shorter work shift.

Travis and I are spending as much time as possible together, which, between his schedule and mine, isn't a lot.  We're just friends  for now but I'm hoping for more; we'll see what the new year brings.

The garden is thriving, besides the vegetables from last year, there are lilies, snapdragons and an apple tree.  I'm keeping my eye on a seedling cherry tree in Oasis Springs.

I've taking up fishing.  Some days are more successful than others.  I cook my high-quality catches and feed the lesser ones to the plants.
I've found quite a few more frogs; any more and they'll be needing a room of their own!  My prize is a whirlyflower frog bred from crossing a sunflower frog with an eggplant whirl.

I bought a decent bed with my first promotion bonus and a decent shower with the second.  Between the two, my back problems should be resolved.

Yuletide Blessings, Merry Christmas, Happy Hannukah,  Ecstatic Eid, Luminous Diwali and Fruitful Kwaanza! Miss you all!

Love,
Leigh

PS:  Hope you enjoy the chocolate chip cookies!

Yule Tidings Chapter 1

Beloved ones:  I'm thinking of you and wishing you the happiest of holiday seasons.

I've bought a large piece of land in Willow Creek and am slowly improving it.  I've built a little blueterra cotta house.  It's shabby but sufficient.
I've taken a job in the culinary field; I'll start off as an assistant dishwasher at the start of the new year.  Yes, I still like to watch Gordon Simsay.  One of these days, I will be a Master Chef.

I've planted a little garden with carrots, spinach and mushrooms.

I've found the cutest little heartsurfer frog.  You remember back in the day when the boys tried to upset me with frogs, I upset the boys by adopting the frogs as pets.

Yuletide Blessings, Merry Christmas, Happy Hannukah, Ecstatic Eid, Luminous Diwali and Fruitful Kwaanza!

Love, Leigh
